Ferrari 458 Crash at The Pirelli World Challenge – Road America

Road America hosted the The Pirelli World Challenge this past weekend. Of course great racing was on tap, but the weekend was not without incident

The story as we understand it goes like this: The McDonald’s 458 had just been overtaken, losing first place in corner 3. Just after turn 4 he attempted to regain the lead and in doing so clipped the grass next to the track causing the nose of the car to abruptly lift which in turn made the car sail into the fence and come to rest just short of turn 5. No member of the crowd was injured and the driver walked away.

The dramatic crash and the aftermath can be found below.

Forgotten Classic Car Collection

Découverte Collection Baillon

Indiana Jones sought out historical relics, not old cars. But if he had, this Massive Forgotten Classic Car Collection would have been his greatest find. Discovered sitting in a countryside in the west of France, this unprecedented collection is coming up for auction, and includes 60 collectors automobiles dating from the earliest days of motoring through the 1970s. Having sat dormant for 50 years, many of the cars aren’t in the best of shape, but in the hands of a restoration professional, would give you a solid car museum in a single purchase. The crown jewel of the lot? A black 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider in very good condition — otherwise known as “Cameron’s Dad’s Car”, or “The Ferrari in the Trees.”
